Re-envisioning Your Library
To maximize student success, librarians work to keep the library's mission and vision clear and current, to reflect pedagogical trends the individual school espouses, and to be sure current technology shows prominently in the mission and vision statements. Strong school libraries often have a strategic plan that reflects the best thinking of the school community about how the library should function for the school in the next 5-10 years. The librarian can facilitate this process by continuously looking ahead to see changes develop that will affect the library facility, equipment, materials and staffing - in the school, in the community, in the world.
